How to Use Feedburner for Your Blog Step I • In Step I you learn how to avail of the services provided by Feedburner for free. In this process, your site is linked actively with www. Feedburner . com. • Register with a Username, which may be your Gmail Account without @gmail.com • Then choose a password, different from your Gmail one. (This is necessary, for you will have to sign up with many other sites, where it is not safe to give the Gmail password. • Then type down your Gmail address. • After you have signed in, you are prompted to burn a feed. Type down the URL of your site. If you are not a podcaster, do not check the box. • Now you are shown two feed addresses of your site: one for Atom and another for RSS. You may choose any one, but the second option is better. Save the two addresses in a Word file. Click next. • Now you are shown the link Post Redirect URL, which you should save in a separate Word file. Copy and paste this in your blog Settings for Site Feed. In Blogger page, click save setting. • Then activate the feed in the Feedburner window. You are provided with some options, accept those by clicking Next. Then check all the options and do not forget to check Feedburner Pro. You see Feedburner Dashboard with Optimize, Publicize and Monetize options. Do not close the feedburner window. • Now go to Feedburner window and click on Publicize. In the Vertical Menu click on Email Subscription. Choose Feedburner and click on Activate. You are offered an HTML code. Copy and paste this in the new window for adding HTML / Java Script. Give a name and save it. (You may do this by selecting Use as a Widget in Blogger.) • After the element is added, click on Save. You will be prompted to view your blog. Click on it and you will find the new Page Element added to your site. Remember this process of HTML/Java Script adding to your site, for you will have to use this option later on many occasions.
